Post sizes

Cattle yards post sizes 1

Post size for 120 cattle rail yards are 100NB as standard, which measures 100mm inside with a 4.5mm wall (or 114.3mm OD)

Gate posts can vary in height depending on your needs and how you work your stock (on horseback etc.)

Catch options:

Spring Loaded Bolt Catches

haz-catchThese catches are standard on all 97CR & 120CR gates.

The spring loaded bolt catch has been developed and patented by ProWay as an effective multi-purpose, heavy duty gate catch.

For animal safety, the catch is fully contained inside the gate, not welded on the side. This prevents bruising to stock and limits damage to catch itself. The catch can be locked open in one movement, so that no part of the bolt is exposed.

This also eliminates the chance of injury to cattle particularly when drafting through yards. The ring pull bolt system is simple to operate from either side of the gate and closes into a fitted pocket on the opposing post.  Hot dip galvanised for maximum longevity, minimising maintenance and downtime.

Lever Haz Catch

Cattle yards lever haz catch 1Lever Haz catches have been developed and patented by ProWay. For animal safety, the catch is fully contained inside the gate, not welded on the side. This prevents bruising to stock and limits damage to catch itself. The catch can be locked open in one movement, so that no part of the bolt is exposed.

Lever Haz catches are particularly useful in situations where catch access is limited.

Generally these catches are installed on the outside of sheeted gates, or where gates need to be operated from a walkway.

Poplar Slam Catch

Cattle yards poplar slam catch 1Poplar slam catches are another option for our standard gate range and are fitted to one side of the rail.

These are suited to yards without high pressure traffic areas as the protrude from the gate face.

Due to the lever handle, gates fitted with poplar catches are simple and quick to open and can be thrown shut.

Race Options:

H-Race 120CR Inside, Sheeted Outside

Cattle yards H race 1

  • Full sheeting on the outside of the race prevents distractions out side of the working area from affecting stock flow
  • Five 120mm rails allow visibility and access to stock while allowing the operator into the flight zone of the cattle to move them through the race
  • Races are available at any length and are designed with suitable radial arcs to promote stock flow
  • Strength is given by a combination of heavy duty galvanised construction and underground bracing which is concreted in the slab work

Elevated Walkways

Cattle yards elevated walkways 1

  • Elevate operator to a safe, comfortable working height above stock
  • By following the walkway around the force yards and race the operator is able to encourage stock flow from a more commanding position
  • Non-slip walkway mesh
  • Cut and installed onsite to ensure neat and robust fit
  • Concreted in ground for strength

Sliding Gates

Cattle yards sliding gates 1

Two style sliding gates are available:

  • The conventional type, features no overhanging track on the operators side. The gates are reversible and can be used from either side. They open towards the operator.
  • The alternative style is designed for use with walkways. The gate opens away from the operator, so the walkway is not blocked by the open gate. It is operated by a by a lever type handle which drops down out of the road. It also features no overhead gear on the operators side.

Pneumatic Rotary Block Gates
