Chief Executive Officer
Michael Dean
Michael leads ProWay’s business strategy and operational development, bringing extensive senior leadership experience across manufacturing, engineering, agriculture and supply chain industries.

Michael has managed large and complex operations, including sites employing up to 350 people, and has held senior responsibility across operations, finance, sales, marketing and strategic development.
Before joining ProWay, he served as National Commercial Manager at Cresco Australia and General Manager of Roddy Engineering. Earlier roles with Kotzur, Laing O’Rourke, Schneider Electric, Hyne Timber and Austrak developed his experience in manufacturing management, supply chain optimisation and large-scale industrial operations.
His leadership style is hands-on and transparent, with a strong focus on clear communication, accountability, safety, continuous improvement and empowering people at every level of the business.
Director & Commercial Manager
Bill Thomas
Bill is a founding Director, nationally recognised livestock equipment designer and project leader with more than two decades of experience delivering major commercial infrastructure across Australia.
More about Bill
Bill oversees the integration of design, engineering, manufacturing, client liaison and on-site construction for complex Design & Construct projects involving saleyards, abattoirs, feedlots and transport facilities.
He has been central to major installations including Wagga LMC, SRLX Moss Vale, NRLX Naracoorte, WVLX Mortlake, Mount Gambier, Dubbo, SELX Yass and numerous JBS facilities. His work is recognised for practical livestock flow, operator safety and long-term operational durability.
Bill holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Commerce from the University of Sydney. He contributed to the ALTRA Loading Ramp Guidelines and AS 5340:2020 Livestock Loading/Unloading Ramps and Forcing Pens, and received the 2022 Shane Knight Memorial Award.
Founding Director
Joe Hoban
Joe is a nationally and internationally recognised livestock equipment designer and innovator with more than three decades of experience creating practical, safe and durable livestock handling systems.
More about Joe
Joe oversees the design and innovation of livestock handling products and facilities, working with ProWay’s design team to improve stock flow, operator safety, animal welfare and operational efficiency. His approach is grounded in doing the job once and doing it right, reducing maintenance and protecting long-term asset value.
His expertise has supported projects in Australia and internationally, including sheep feedlots in Canada and cattle processing facilities in Kazakhstan and Papua New Guinea.
Joe holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne. He grew up on a sheep and beef cattle property, worked in the Canadian feedlot industry and continues to operate a sheep and cattle property near Mangoplah, NSW, along with the Berkley White Suffolk stud.
He co-developed the patented Crate Pal concept, which received First Prize in the Victorian WorkSafe Awards.

Heath Cole
Heath brings practical project leadership across design development, site coordination and client delivery, helping connect the technical and operational requirements of each commercial project.

As one of ProWay’s Senior Designers and Commercial Project Manager, Heath has a strong background in project delivery, site coordination and client-focused outcomes.
Known for a practical, straight-up approach, he brings reliability, clear communication and hands-on problem-solving to every job. His role helps maintain continuity between project planning, design development, site activity and the finished operational outcome.
