At ProWay, we’re all about empowering the shearing industry with innovative designs that push boundaries. That’s why we’re thrilled to share our involvement in a groundbreaking achievement: the new World Record for the 5-Stand Merino Lamb 8-Hour event!
On October 18, a powerhouse team of five shearers—assembled by Riverina Shearing and led by Lachlan Robertson—shattered expectations by shearing an incredible 2,301 lambs in just eight hours. The event unfolded at Finlay Pastoral’s “Boorook” property in the Riverina, NSW, hosted by long-time ProWay customers James and Simon Finlay. We collaborated closely with them to customize the catching pens and board walls in our purpose-built shed and yard complex, ensuring optimal setup for this record attempt.
Standout performances included Kiwi shearer Benjamin Duncan topping the tally with 502 lambs, alongside teammates Cameron Hicks, Nick Lehmann, Toby Walker, and Lochie Robertson. Despite challenging dry conditions and physical strain, their teamwork shone through, setting a baseline for future challengers.
This wasn’t just about records—it raised $10,000 for Ronald McDonald House South West NSW, highlighting the Riverina’s strong community spirit. A huge shoutout to all shearers, rouseabouts, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters who made it happen.
Congratulations to the team! At ProWay, we’re proud to support such milestones that elevate Australian shearing. Ready to optimize your setup? Let’s chat about how our designs can help you kick goals too.
